Since past few years the country’s tourism faced many ups and down but this year the tourism has growth by 28 percent in the first half of 2017.

As per Tourism department Data Nepal welcomed a total of 460,304 tourists in the last 6 months in 2017 where only 359,672 visited Nepal in 2016. Only in first 6 months of 2017 93,049 Indian visitors visited Nepal and India becomes the largest Nepal visitor’s country.

Likewise Chinese visitors improved to 54,090 in the first half of this year. There were 14 thousands less Chinese visited last year of early 6 months. 41691 Americans, 19,729 Sri Lankan, 27,444 from United Kingdom visited Nepal in first 6 months of this year.

Thailand, Myanmar, Korea and Australian also improved well this year. According to government records March received large number of tourists a total of 74,494 in Nepal. Due to impact of earthquake and Indian blockade in 2015 tourism number fell down, The tourism in country started raising since 2006 in Nepal.

Depertment of Tourism officer Durga Dutta Dhakal mentioned that Nepal is on track to record healthy raise in 2017 compared to last years. Government advertisement have played great role to increase tourists in Nepal.

Nepal offers main three trekking destinations named Everest, Annapurna and Langtang region. However Manaslu, Dolpo and Upper Mustang trek has been significant raises on tourists. Dissimilar government and private organizations exploring new routes to attract tourists.
