HAN hosts regional meet in Biratnagar2015-02-23 11:09:57

Hoteliers have urged the government to upgrade the airport in Biratnagar as regional airport to increase the flow of tourists in the country citing the tremendous tourism potential of eastern Nepal.

“As the government has set a target to bring two million tourists by 2020 through air routes, we must invest in infrastructure to increase the flow of tourists,” the statement issued by the Hotel Association Nepal (HAN) quoted its First Vice President marman Shakya as saying during the regional conference of hoteliers held in Biratnagar on Sunday.

“Biratnagar can be linked with direct flight service from different vities of the regional is we can develop it as regional airport,” said Shakya. He also emphasized on proper marketing of tourism destinations located in the eastern regional of the country.

During the conference, hoteliers stressed on improving cooperation between HAN and regional chapters of hoteliers to boost the tourism sector. They also discusses on controlling ill practices prevalent in the sector.
