Jomsom to Tilicho Lake trail rebuild2017-10-07 11:20:38

Annapurna is one of the liked trekking routes in Nepal. Different route explorations keep going on every year to attract more tourists in the region. From Mustang district Annapurna Conservation Area Project (ACAP) has built new small shelter houses and sings post on an alternative trekking trail to Tilicho Lake.

From Jomsom to Tilicho Lake it will take only 2 days by using this alternative route. In order to make trail safe and comfortable Annapurna Conservation invested amount to built small bridges, tea houses and resting spot along the trail. Due to raise of number of tourists Annapurna Conservation Area Project made decision to expand trail. In recent year’s number of trekkers in this route increased.

They have made 2 meter wide. Jomsom to Tilicho Lake is 905 kilometers in distance. Tilicho Lake is situated on the elevation of 4,919 meter and if any trekkers prefer to go from Jomsom have to cross Mesokondo Pass (5,120m). The number of adventure lovers decreased after snowstorm and avalanches claimed of about three dozen along with many other trekking local staffs in 2014. Along the trail tourism stakeholders and local hoteliers forced to government to rebuild the trail.

Even for domestic tourists Tilicho Lake becase more popular in recent years. Trekkers prefer to explore new trails each year to find out the beauty of the region. The new trail to Tilicho Lake from Jomsom can the alternative trail of Throng La Pass (5416m) in few years of popular Annapurna Circuit trek. The locals of Jomsom will advice tourists to visit Tilicho Lake from Jomsom too.
