As the world knows that the highest peak on earth is Mt Everest which lies east northern part of Nepal. The news reported that the height of Everest fall down due to terrible earthquake in 2015 so the Government of Nepal planning to measure Mt. Everest Height after the a controversy over its height.

The country is home to Mt Everest other half of the world’s highest peaks has never measure the peaks its own. Indian climbing team on 1951 measured the peaks and reported 8,848meters and so far the officials are using the same height. National geographic society measured the height and reported 8850 meters in 1999 by using satellite based technology.  Everest lies on the border of Nepal and China.

Many climbing lovers’ climbs reach the top of the world from both sides. Most commonly used route is from Nepal side. The Chinese tem in 2005 measured its height at 8,844.43 meters. In order to settle this debate the Government of Nepal will help expedition as said my Director General of government’s survey department Mr Ganesh Prasah Bhatta.

They are not developing a methodoloy for the measurements which will be talked with national and international experts which should be approved by international standards. Nepal id lack of scientific tools and equipment as well as gravimeters but would hire if needed.

If the weather favor, the government will start expedition on coming summer or in autumn of 2018.  The major purpose of the team will be to observe if the height has decreases by 7.8 magnitude earthquake in 2015. The Earthquake in 2015 hit the country in peak season and all expedition were closed for that year.

Some expedition team has reported that the Hillary steps have disappeared. World’s best travel destination for adventure lovers the Everest icon. Thousands of trekkers reaches the base camp of Everest each months.
